This verse comforts us in immeasurable ways. If God were to act or treat us according to the guilt of our sins, we would have never made it to this day. His unceasing love and kindness triumph over his indignation of our wrongdoings and sinful character. That does not, in a way evict our sins but that God holds back His judgment from devouring us because of His great love. The simple reason that the history of humans have existed for all these millennia shows that God indeed, does not repay as our sins deserve.
Humans have provoked and mocked God in all manners possible defying His word and will but God still holds out His arm to receive those who will turn to Him. It is this kindness that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4).
Prayer: Thank you Father for loving me though I do not deserve it. Help me turn to you and obey you in return, Amen.
