We are living in desperate times. One tragic event follows another. We want peace but news of wars and killings fills our headlines.  One epidemic follows another pandemic disease. Can we conclude that we are in the final moments of the Lord's return! Maybe or maybe not. The signs of the times as describe in the Gospels and the other epistles seems to be approaching very near but we can't conclude. We just don't know. Indeed, Jesus predicted difficult times in the end and things are expected to get worse (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21). So, what do we do in this interim period? Should we simply wait for another greater calamity to strike human race or do we plead for mercy and grace from God?
I think there are enough reasons to plead for God's protection and mercy at this hour of desperation. Look at the example of Noah and his family being saved out of water in the Great Deluge (Genesis 6), Lot being rescued when God poured down burning sulphur and fire upon Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19), the Israelites' firstborn being protected when the LORD killed all the Egyptians' firstborn (Exodus 12:29, 30), and the Ninevites being protected from God's judgment because they repented at the preaching of Jonah (Jonah 3). If for nothing else, we can plead for mercy and salvation.

But here are just 3 Quick Reasons we must CONTINUE TO pray:

1. Jesus commands us to pray (Luke 18:1; 21:36)

2. Christians are commanded to pray for everyone to be saved (1 Timothy 2:1-4)

3. Christians are commanded to pray for one another in the Lord (Ephesians 6:18)

May you be blessed as you continue to pray until the Lord returns!

"But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved" Matthew 24:13
Praise the Lord!
