10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that was to be yours made careful search and inquiry, 11 inquiring about the person or time that the Spirit of Christ within them indicated when it testified in advance to the sufferings destined for Christ and the subsequent glory. 1 Peter 1:10-11
The undeniable reality of the Bible is the prophecies of the Old Testament that were fulfilled in Christ Jesus. From the manner of His birth, baptism, ministry to the crucifixion on the Cross, the prophets of old made very clear and precise prophecies of Jesus Christ (Genesis 3:15; Micah 5:2; Isa. 7:14; 9:7; Zech. 11:12-13; Isa. 53:5-12). The prophets did not blur the readers of the Messiah’s coming and His salvation plan. They spoke with clarity of Christ’s suffering and cruel death that would ransom the souls of men. They not only predicted the Messianic sufferings but the subsequent glory that would follow after His death (Psalm 24:7-10; 68:18; 110:1). All these prophecies could not be a coincidence but a perfect plan of God showing His Sovereignty over all creation, history and time itself.
