Mark 1:8 I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
This is an excerpt from John the Baptist preaching. Indeed, John baptized people in water for repentance and cleansing. It was an act that tells the whole world that the person renounces his/her bad deeds and is willing to live a new life in the power of God. John the Baptist preached a message of repentance and cleared the way for Jesus to continue his message.
The baptism in water was a natural outward sign of people responding to the message of righteousness and holiness. John the baptist initiated it but the baptism of the Holy Spirit will be a supernatural act that can only be done by Christ Jesus. The baptism in the Spirit is not so much an emotional experience but a divine empowerment from above to walk in love and in the truth of God's word.
The baptism of the water is an act of cleansing while the baptism of the Holy Spirit is an endowment from above to live a live of holiness, love and the proclamation of the Gospel of Christ Jesus.
Prayer: Lord God, baptize me in your Holy Spirit that I may live a live of joy and holiness and proclaim the good news to the people around me, In Christ name, amen.
