I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
“I will” is a definite decision of the human will. To praise the Lord not only in the spur of emotions or feelings but a willing choice to do it is the true sacrifice of worship. Not only when things go well but when things go disarray. Not only when ways are open but when ways are blocked. Not only when accolade floods in but when criticism seems to overwhelm the soul. It is in the mountains and deep valleys of our soul that we choose faith in God over our fears. There’s no room for complaining or murmuring when praises invades the tongue of men.
When the hearts of men is filled with gratitude, praises erupts automatically. The realization of our unworthiness and God’s unconditional kindness toward humans always leads to the place of thankfulness and praise. Praises abounds in the hearts of grateful believers.
Prayer: Lord, I will extol the LORD at all times; your praises will always be on my lips, Amen.
