Psalm 75:7
It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.
Exaltation by men is temporary and is always shaky. But when the promotion originates from the Lord, it is always lasting and stable. Also no human, however, hard he may try in seeking higher position is bound to fail if God does not decree it.
God is truly the ultimate judge and He knows when a person is ready to be lifted up. He knows the right time of pulling down a proud, wicked and rebellious ruler and in promoting the right person on the throne. God is sovereign and no human can overrule his judgement when the Lord makes a move. It is this that defines Him as God.
Prayer: Help me trust in your time to see the exaltation of the righteous and the humiliation of the wicked people, Amen.
