May the favour of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us-yes, establish the work of our hands.
Without God’s favour and approval, there is no success. If God’s beauty (favour) is not seen through the works of my hands, then it’s not worth it. It will go up in flames. The psalmist prayed this prayer at a time when God’s anger fell upon the Israelites in the wilderness for the sin of disobedience. God removed his favour upon them and death struck the Israelites in great numbers but now here is a plea from God’s servant to show His favour again. Prosperity comes when God’s hand is upon the hand of men. This magnificent prayer reminds us that our hands are useless and powerless without God’s power and favour on it.
Prayer: Lord, May your favour rest on me and establish the work of my hands-yes establish the work of my hands, Amen.
